SQUEAC Report, Kirotshe District, Masisi Region, 2015, ACF

The program titled “Health Assistance for Vulnerable Populations Affected by Conflict in North Kivu Province” was implemented by COOPI from April 2014 to March 2015 in the Masisi health district, Masisi territory, and the Kirotche and Masisi rural health zones, with funding from ECHO. The following health areas were covered by the intervention: Rubaya, Mumba, Bweremana, and Ngungu in the Kirotshe Health Zone, and Kibabi in the Masisi Health Zone. The intervention area is rural and home to camps for internally displaced persons; half of the population consists of pastoralists and sedentary residents, while the other half are nomads.

The program consisted primarily of a health support component (Minimum Package of Activities; Supplementary Package of Activities; Reproductive Health; management of SGBV/GBV cases; prevention and management of diseases with epidemic potential) and a component focused on managing severe malnutrition, through support for the 5 UNTA (in each of the aforementioned health areas) and 3 UNTI (at the Ngungu, Rubaya, and Kibabi Community Health Centers).
