SQUEAC Report, District Health Office (DS) of Djibo, Sahel Region, Burkina Faso, 2015

From January 13 to 29, 2015, a survey to assess PCA coverage using the SQUEAC method was conducted in the Djibo Health District (DS). The Djibo DS is located in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso. It is a rural district where the population consists mainly of herders and nomads. The care program began in 2007 with support from the Red Cross. SQUEAC consists of a range of tools used to collect, analyze, and organize quantitative data (routine data) and qualitative data (opinions, perceptions, and experiences of stakeholders and beneficiaries). Its implementation involved twenty-two (22) staff members, comprising 16 investigators—including three (03) Red Cross staff members and thirteen (13) from health facilities—four DS supervisors, including one from the Red Cross, one (01) DRS supervisor, and finally a district coordinator

The team received remote assistance from the CMN. The first two (02) days, January 13–14, were devoted to training on the methodology and organization of the SQUEAC in the field. Subsequently, three field surveys (a qualitative survey, a small-area survey, and a large-area survey) were conducted.
