Since January 2010, the CRM and the CRB have been implementing a project in Baraoueli to treat acute malnutrition and prevent malnutrition through a community-based approach (Ségou Region, DRS, and Baraoueli Health District), covering the 25 CSCOMs and the URENI in the Baraoueli Health District. The current coverage rate is 34.8% (25.4%–45.2%). Although this rate is below the SPHERE standard of 50% in rural areas, it is above the national average of 22.3% (16.7%–27.6%)
The overall objective of this assessment is to assess coverage and identify the main barriers to access to treatment services for malnutrition among children aged 6 to 59 months in Baraoueli District using a Semi Quantitative Assessment of Accessibility and Coverage (SQUEAC).
