In May 2017, a coverage assessment of services to treat both moderate (MAM) and severe (SAM) acute malnutrition was conducted in Gogrial West County, Warrap state in the Republic of South Sudan. The assessment used the SQUEAC (semi-quantitative evaluation of access and coverage) methodology and covered services delivered by Action Against Hunger and World Vision International. The assessment identified a coverage estimation of 42.2% [95% CI: 32.1% to 52.9%] for the outpatient therapeutic programme (OTP) to treat SAM and 33.7% [95%CI: 26.9% to 41.2%] for the targeted supplementary feeding programme (TSFP) to treat MAM. These both fall below suggested minimum SPHERE standard of 50% coverage in rural areas.
