The investigation was carried out from 10 to 30 July 2017. It provided an opportunity to deliver practical training on the SQUEAC methodology to ACF staff and one representative from the Kayes Health District.

The assessment followed the three main stages of the methodology, and the principles of completeness and triangulation were applied during the process of collecting and analysing data (both qualitative and quantitative), as well as during case finding. The derivation of the prior probability (belief in coverage), combined with the results of the district-wide survey (plausible evidence – probable coverage), enabled the coverage estimate to be determined through analysis using the Bayes calculator (Bayes SQUEAC). The overall coverage of the PCIMAS programme is estimated at: 28.7% (20.6%–38.6%) / Z-test: z = 0.02 / p = 0.9632.
