The Link NCA was conducted in the districts of Thatta and Dadu, Sindh Province, Pakistan, regions significantly affected by the 2010 floods. Malnutrition is among the most serious health issues faced by infants and young children in Sindh Province, leading to significant health and economic consequences for individuals and families.

Before the 2011 floods, wasting rates were classified as critically high, with a prevalence of 21%. The study identified several factors influencing the nutritional status of children in the region:

  • Low-income sources for households
  • Inadequate continued breastfeeding practices
  • Poor child feeding practices, such as delayed introduction of complementary foods and low dietary diversity

Based on these findings, programme recommendations were developed to improve children’s nutritional status in the area. For more details, please refer to the final report.
